In 2022 I started photographing produce distribution facilities throughout New York…mostly in Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx. I like these structures for their bleak, lifeless shells that hold beautiful fruits and vegetables that were only recently attached to some vine or branch under the sun. These facilities are intersections where global supply chains congregate into one central location. You’ll get 🍉 from Pennsylvania, 🍎 from Argentina and 🥭 from Brazil all finding a new temporary home here.
